eating & creating something real

Ash grew up in a home where meals were vibrant.

Her father regularly cooked multi-course Chinese dinners after long workdays, while her mother introduced her to the world of “dining” from a young age. This duality sparked a lifelong curiosity about food in all its forms. For years, Ash identified as a ‘foodie’ in New York until she realized that just consuming wasn’t enough. She wanted to create.

That impulse gave rise to her own culinary ventures, including intimate supper clubs, local bake sales, and a  cookbook centered on flexible, approachable home cooking. Her food philosophy is rooted in her Chinese-American heritage and invites others to explore their own cultural identity through the acts of cooking and sharing meals. Across her work, she prioritizes taste—believing that wellness and pleasure are not at odds, but deeply intertwined.

Her book, “Alimentary”, focuses on making nutritious food both practical and enjoyable, without rules or rigid diets, containing 50+ recipes. She believes that all recipes are meant to be adapted rather than followed to the letter. Her work encourages people to cook more, stress less, and eat in a way that actually works for everyday life.

Alimentary is also a nutrition manual for trainees, containing essential information on macronutrients, caloric requirements, meal timing, and the like.
